About

I grew up between cultures. It turned out to be the job.

I'm Denis Celik, founder of Celik Advisory. I was raised in Germany by a Turkish father and a Brazilian mother — which meant three languages at home before it ever looked like a professional advantage.

German, English and Portuguese are all languages I actually live in, not ones I list. And language is only half of it: what carries over is knowing how people in different cultures make decisions, what they consider polite, what they consider serious, and what makes them trust someone.

Then I spent four years in the United States as a college athlete. Sport is a blunt teacher — it doesn't care where you're from, only whether you show up. That period gave me an American working instinct that's hard to acquire from abroad: the pace, the directness, the comfort with ambition. It's also where I learned to spot the people who keep going after a bad week.

Since then: an MBA in Finance and retail management at Lululemon. Different rooms, same underlying skill — understanding what someone actually needs and getting the thing built.

Celik Advisory grew out of that. American companies keep arriving in Germany with a plan that would have worked at home, and German companies keep looking for people they can't reach through a job posting. Both problems are translation problems, in the wider sense.

"Çelik" means steel. I like that as a standard: quiet, reliable, and stronger than it looks. You'll always work with me directly.

How American teams work, from the inside, not from a distance.

The Brazilian side matters too: alongside the US–DACH work, Portuguese and a genuine feel for Brazilian business culture open a second bridge that few advisors in this market can offer.
