Germany Readiness Review

Know whether Germany is worth it — in two weeks, for a fixed fee.

A focused assessment for US companies: real demand, the right entry mode, every compliance obligation, a 12-month cost model and a 90-day plan. You leave with a decision, not a deck.

Why it exists

Most Germany budgets are spent before the first real question is answered.

Teams found a GmbH, hire a country manager or translate the site — then discover the channel does not work, the compliance registrations block the launch, or the pricing never stood a chance. The readiness review front-loads those answers for a fraction of what one wrong month of execution costs.

Scope

What the review covers.

01

Demand and competitive reality

Category sizing for your specific offer in Germany, who already owns the shelf or the shortlist, and the price points German buyers actually pay.

02

Entry-mode recommendation

Cross-border, distributor, marketplace or GmbH — with the reasoning, the trigger points for upgrading later, and what each option costs you in the first year.

03

Compliance gap list

VAT or OSS, LUCID and packaging, WEEE, CE and GPSR, GDPR and cookies, Impressum and AGB. What applies to you, what it costs, and how long each registration takes.

04

Localization requirements

What must be in German, what can stay English, and where a translated site quietly costs you conversion or gets you an Abmahnung.

05

Cost and timeline model

A one-page budget for the first 12 months: setup, compliance, localization, channel and the first local hire, with realistic lead times per line.

06

90-day action plan

A sequenced plan with owners and dependencies, so your team leaves the review with a next step rather than a report.

How it runs

Two weeks, four checkpoints.

Day 0Kick-off call (45 min): your goals, current traction, constraints and internal decision date.
Day 1–7Desk research, compliance mapping, cost modelling and — where useful — short conversations in-market.
Day 8–10Draft findings shared for factual corrections from your side.
Day 11–14Final readout call (60 min) plus the written review and the 90-day plan.

Investment

Fixed fee, agreed before we start.

Focused review

From EUR 3,900

One product line, Germany only. Full scope above, two weeks, written review and readout call.

Extended review

From EUR 6,900

Several product lines or DACH-wide (DE, AT, CH), including channel and partner mapping.

Review + execution

From EUR 12,000

The review plus hands-on delivery: compliance registrations, partner search or the first local hire — one senior operator, no junior team.

Engagements are limited to a small number of clients per quarter. Every review is done personally by Denis Celik — no associates, no template report.

All fees are net, plus German VAT where applicable. The final fee is confirmed in writing after a short intro call, before any work begins. The review maps obligations, costs and timelines — it is not legal or tax advice; binding advice comes from a German Rechtsanwalt or Steuerberater, whom I coordinate with where needed.

Fit

Who this is for — and who it is not.

A good fit

  • US company with product-market fit at home, considering Germany or DACH as the next market
  • E-commerce, consumer brand, industrial or B2B software with a physical or contractual footprint in Europe
  • A decision to make in the next one to two quarters, with a budget owner involved

Not a fit

  • Pre-revenue with no validated offer in the US market yet
  • Looking for legal or tax advice — that requires a Rechtsanwalt or Steuerberater, and I bring them in where needed
  • Looking for a 60-slide deck rather than a decision and a plan

Next step

Request scope and fee for your case.

Tell me what you sell and where you are in the decision. You get a short reply within one business day with the scope, the fee and the earliest start date — or an honest note that a review is not what you need right now.

FAQ

Questions before you book.

What does a Germany readiness review cost?

The review is a fixed fee starting at EUR 3,900 plus VAT for a single product line or business unit. Broader scope — several product lines, multiple DACH countries, or an entity and hiring plan on top — is quoted before we start, so there are no hourly surprises.

How long does the review take?

Two weeks from kick-off to final readout. Faster is possible when a board or investor date requires it; slower usually means we are waiting on information from your side.

What do we actually receive at the end?

A written review covering demand, entry mode, compliance gaps, localization requirements and a 12-month cost model, plus a sequenced 90-day action plan and a 60-minute readout call with your team.

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. The review maps obligations, costs and timelines so you can plan and budget. Binding legal or tax advice comes from a German Rechtsanwalt or Steuerberater, and I coordinate with them where a question needs it.

What happens after the review?

Most clients either execute the 90-day plan internally, or bring me in to run specific parts of it — compliance registrations, partner and distributor search, or recruiting the first local hire. There is no obligation either way.
